The American D-DAY Experience
(3 Days)
Follow in the footsteps of the men who landed by sea and air on 6 June 1944. The areas we would concentrate on are:
Utah Beach
Explore the landing area of the U.S. 4th Infantry Division and understand how the troops fought their way inland from the beach towards the Cotentin Peninsula.
Omaha Beach
Stand on the ground where the U.S. 1st and 29th Infantry Divisions faced some of the fiercest fighting of D-Day. We explore the beach, the exits, the German defences and the ground over which the Americans fought their way inland.
Pointe du Hoc
Visit the dramatic cliff-top position assaulted by Colonel James Rudder's Rangers, examining the terrain, German fortifications and the extraordinary challenge faced by the men who climbed the cliffs under fire.
The American Airborne Sector
Follow the story of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions through the fields and villages where American paratroopers landed during the hours before the beach assault.

Normandy American Cemetery
A deeply moving visit to the Normandy American Cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach.
Here, among the thousands of white marble headstones, we remember the individuals behind the history, the young men who came to Normandy and never returned home.
Where appropriate, Honour ✝ Legacy can also help families explore the story of a particular relative who fought or fell in Normandy.

The British & Commonwealth D-Day Experience
(3 Days)
Walk in the footsteps of the British and Canadian forces who came ashore on Normandy's eastern beaches and fought their way inland.
Sword Beach
Explore the easternmost Allied landing beach and the British assault, including the advance inland towards Caen the attack on the Hillman bunker complex and the vital link-up with the airborne forces.
Juno Beach
Follow the Canadian assault and discover the challenges faced by the Canadian forces as they came ashore and fought to establish the beachhead.
Pegasus Bridge
Stand on the ground where the British 6th Airborne Division carried out one of the most famous operations of D-Day.
Explore the capture of the bridges and understand the importance of holding these crossings to protect the eastern flank of the invasion.
Merville Battery
Visit the site of the dramatic assault by the British 9th Parachute Battalion against the German battery threatening the Allied landings.
Here we explore the planning, execution and extraordinary courage involved in one of the most demanding airborne operations of D-Day.
Arromanches & Mulberry Harbour
Visit Arromanches, where the remains of the extraordinary Mulberry Harbour can still be seen offshore. Understand how the Allies created an artificial harbour capable of bringing the men, vehicles and supplies needed to sustain the invasion.
British & Commonwealth Cemeteries
Where appropriate, visits can be made to Commonwealth war cemeteries and individual graves connected with the families and regiments whose stories are being followed.

At Honour ✝ Legacy, I can create a completely bespoke battlefield experience centred around a particular family member or unit.
Before you arrive, I undertake detailed research into the individual and, where possible, reconstruct their wartime journey, identifying their unit, movements, actions, locations, commanders and the circumstances in which they served.
I then take you onto the ground and follow their story for real.
We can trace the route they took, identify the locations where they fought, stood, advanced or were wounded, and visit the places connected to their story. Where records allow, we can build a picture of what they were doing on a particular day and begin to understand the circumstances they faced.

I will explain not only what happened, but where they were, what they were trying to achieve, what was happening around them and, as far as the evidence allows, what they may have experienced.
This is an opportunity to move beyond names, dates and photographs and discover the human story behind the history.

The amount of research required, the locations involved and the length of the tour will determine the cost. Bespoke tours are therefore priced separately from our standard battlefield experiences.
