Some battlefield tours aren't visits they are deeply personal journeys

A tour built around your story

You may have a relative friend of a friend, or only a name, a photograph, a service number and a few fragments of regimental history or family memory.

This is where a bespoke tour can make all the difference.

Normandy Beaches on 6 June 1944

A bespoke tour takes considerably more preparation than a conventional battlefield visit. That is intentional.

I devote the time needed to understand your particular story and to identify the places that can bring it to life. Maps, unit histories, war diaries, operational records, personal accounts and other historical sources can all help build a picture of what happened and, importantly, where it happened.

But historical research can only take us so far.

Sometimes the most powerful moments come from simply standing in the landscape.

  • Looking across a field and knowing that your relative crossed it.

  • Standing beside a road where their unit advanced.

  • Seeing the terrain that shaped their decisions.

  • Visiting a cemetery and finding the headstone of someone whose name has been spoken within your family for generations.

  • Realising what those old medals actually mean.

Those that never returned

These are not simply historical locations.

They are places where your family's history happened.
